Open All-Rep Course

Who it's for: Open to reps from any union

Location: Wortley Hall, Sheffield S35 7DB

Date: Wednesday 18th - Friday 20th

Are you a union rep in your workplace?
Are you a branch officer interested in trade union political education?
Would you like to be a better organiser and see more of your members step up to be organisers?

Then this is the course for you!

For the last two years, the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung London Office has been running a transformative trade union political education course with five different unions. The results have been impressive. Following the course, most participants have recruited more colleagues to their union. Many have stepped forward to become first time reps, and existing reps have taken up organising campaigns and leadership roles in their branches.

We’ve seen new strikes dedicated to tackling insecure, low paid work, and bullying, as well as justice for misclassified and exploited workers. We’ve seen campaigns advancing disability justice, international solidarity and winning resources for underfunded public services. Members walk into the room curious, and leave it feeling more confident and motivated to organise.

The course combines political economy - who has power to determine the conditions of our lives -  with members’ own experience and analysis, as well as practical organising skills. Every participant leaves with their own organising vision and plan. No prior knowledge or further education is assumed and the course is designed to be accessible to members who have English as an additional language.

For the very first time and for one time only, we are opening up this course to union representatives from all trade unions across the UK. We are particularly interested in Union Learning Reps and Branch Education Officers attending. We encourage two people to come from the same branch, or at a minimum from the same union, to ensure learnings are embedded upon return.

Please fill in this form to apply by February 9th 2026.

Accommodation and food is provided for free.

We encourage participants to have travel costs paid by their union, but where this is not possible we can cover travel.
